School Rumble is done! I really enjoyed it, but to be perfectly honest with you, the ending was disappointing, like most anime endings. There is a second season, but it hasn't been dubbed yet, so I think I'm going to wait for the dub before watching it. The last episode was the most bizarre thing I've ever watched in my life.
I just realised that I have one Monday left at home after this one. Then I'm gone. To Wolverhampton, where a cramped room and lectures await. I'm starting to get excited, but at the same time, I don't want to leave my friends, because I really love them all, and I'm going to miss them, no matter what.
Just wait 'til JCC where I'm back with a vengence. Cosplaying.
Anyway, time to start watching some Samurai Deeper Kyo. With it's shitty music, but awesome voice actors (Seriously, Dan Green, Veronica Taylor AND Wayne Grayson. Add Vic Mignogna and maybe Eric Stuart too, and the voice actor thing would be too good for words.)

School Rumble.

School Rumble isn't turning out to be bad. At all. It's not one of my favourites, but it's quite funny, and I'm enjoying it.
I saw my grandma and grandad today, along with Tosh and Beth (my brother and sister-in-law) which was really nice. I love my grandma and everything, but she does this annoying thing where she can't help but say I've put on weight since I last saw her. She always does this. I only saw her a week ago, and apparently I've gone from acceptable weight to chubby in that time.
Cheers, Grammy.
But yeah, today was weird. I'm probably not going to see my brother until the panto this year, which is on Christmas Eve. It's not like we spend a lot of time together as it is, but I did feel a little bit sad saying that I'd probably see him at Christmas before he drove off.

I Like It When...
Saturday, 29 August 2009
I like it when I find a new anime that looks promising.
I've started watching School Rumble, so I have yet another anime to add to the list. I really like it so far. And there's some stuff that I'm still waiting on.
I want to see the Devil May Cry anime, because it looks pure amazing. I'm also waiting for the dubbed episodes of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. And, nothing has changed on the Higurashi No Naki Koro Ni Rei front. I'm still waiting for subtitles.
I'm pretty pissed off that FUNimation got their grubby little hands on Higurashi. It's my favourite anime, and pretty much no one had heard of it. Or a minority of anime fans anyway. FUNimation have this thing, where when they licence something, and their name is associated with a show, the show gets very popular. Now everyone will want to see it, and therefore, my one none mainstream show has gone down the toilet.
I should point out, I'm not doubting FUNimations ability to dub shows. I really thought that Fruits Basket, Full Metal Alchemist and Ouran High School Host Club were really well cast. School Rumble is turning out to be well cast as well, though Eric Vale is the only voice I recognise (he played Yuki Sohma in Fruits Basket, and I think he played a minor character in Ouran too) And they just have some talented voice actors working for them. But they didn't dub Higurashi, so I'm within my rights to hold a little grudge about it.
And as a side note, I'm trying my hardest to take advantage of the fact FUNimation decided to upload a lot of their content for free while it's still there. I can't imagine it'll be long before someone thinks it's a bad idea and they take a lot of it back down.
I wasn't wrong about Azumanga either. Claky thought it was shit too.

Today was strange. Me, James and Simon went into Sutton to have lifesux (it changed from luvsux for this week because I was sad about moving) and everything was pretty normal. We were eating our chip cobs, and it was slinging it down outside, which does not surprise me.
After it had stopped raining, we went to see the ducks on Sutton Lawn, because that's what Simon likes to do after we've had nice food. So we saw the ducks for a while, and then we went to sit on one of the docks for a while like we usually do when James is there, and it was nice. We talked about how drunk we were at the Prom afterparty, and how James nom'd on bread until we put him to bed. I kinda noticed this guy in a green hoody, but I didn't really pay attention to him, and we went on a walk ("in the tall grass, because that's where the Pokemon are!") and this guy in the green hoody and his friend were following us. And we laughed about it, and took a stupid detour for no reason, and then they weren't following us.
But then we carried on pretending we were on our Pokemon adventure, and found our den, and then green hoody and pal were there again. And they were just there every where we went. They were literally following us, and we just could not fathom why. We thought it was some kind of game that we were forced to play, but we didn't know how or why this had happened.
In the end, it turns out that green hoody wanted Simon's number. Awkward coversations followed. Then we left.
Then they followed us again. And just carried on. Until we went home.

Edward Elric.
Thursday, 27 August 2009

For me, it's pretty rare to come across a character like Edward Elric. I adored this character. Everything about him I liked, from his ambition, to his firey personality to his protective nature. At the end of the series, I cried genuine tears for him, and I felt so unbelievably sad for him.
This is the kind of character that I really look upto in the strangest way. It's like, he had this dream to get his brothers body and his missing limbs back, and no matter how hard, or dangerous it got, he never gave up. I think everyone who gives up a little to easily, needs to learn a little from Edward Elric.

I've discovered that I cannot fucking stand underage festival goers who get wasted on the first night and then tweet about it. And I totally know that her best friend isn't looking forward to the weekend because her mate always insists on getting wasted. It's really annoying. Just murder your liver, you silly little girl.
Sad.
I've not really been updating my blog that much lately because my life has been pretty dull. It's been all about form filling, and getting student bank accounts, and just generally stuff which ended in me feeling very bored.
However, yesterday, I did get the pleasure of seeing Inglorious Basterds last night, which was amazing. Very inaccurate, but otherwise, it was just fantastic. Afterwards I got to have Dominoes Pizza again which I really enjoyed. I really had a lovely time, besides seeing the worst car accident ever on the way back.
Today Claky came over, and we played on Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Party 4 and Super Smash Bros Melee for a while, had some tea and toast, and watched really bad TV. I'm having a hard time, really. With this whole moving away thing. I keep thinking when I'm hanging out with my friends, that it could be my last chance to do a lot of this stuff before leaving, and it won't happen again until Christmas break, which is a few months away yet. I just want to make the most of all the stuff that's going on around me. Just while I'm here.

8 Trains.
Saturday, 22 August 2009
Today, I got up at 5, left the house at six, got a train from Kirkby to Nottingham, then a train to Chesterfield, then a train to Birmingham, and then a train to Wolverhampton. Me and Derek by this time were already tired, but we carried on walking in the direction of the university. It was hard to miss all of the "Open Day" signs really.
We looked around the accomodation, and I've decided where I want to live. I get my own bathroom, and they're lending me some lamps, so that's awesome. It smells a little weird, but I do get my own bathroom, so I'm not complaining. £88 per week, free internet, free laundry and all inclusive bills.
Then we took a look around the campus, and there's this absolutely HUGE library, with about 500,000 books, and then millions of e-books. I know I'm probably only going to read about 10 or 20, but still. That's a lot of books.
After that me and Derek took a look around Wolverhampton, and I fucking love it. It looks amazing, and the forbidden planet there just shits all over the one in Nottingham. It has a life size Link statue. And so much manga. I've never seen anything like it. And we ate at Pizza Hut.
I leave 3 weeks tomorrow, and I have so much stuff to plan.
On the way back, we took a train from Wolverhampton to Birmingham, Birmingham to Leicester, Leicester to Nottingham and Nottingham to Kirkby.
That makes 8 trains.

Leaving.
I know I'm not going to be leaving for like 3 weeks-a month yet, but I'm really sad about moving away from home. Like, I'm starting to think about what manga I'm gonna take with me, and what DVD's I want to take with me, and what I'm supposed to do about driving lessons and it's making me want to implode.
I think what I'm going to miss the most, besides my friends and family, is Page 45 and Forbidden Planet. I've spent literally hours in those places, and I can safely say, I might cry if I don't get to see them again before I leave.

Friday, 21 August 2009
As of next month, I'll be living in Wolverhampton. You have no idea how scared I am. I need to stock up on anime to watch. I'm going to Wolverhampton tomorrow to look at the uni and stuff, and I'm just like, in shock.
I remember when I found out that I'd got accepted, I was on Skype to Charlie. I miss being on Skype with Charlie.

Anime Day.
Today is going to be an awesome day for anime. A new episode of Umineko No Naku Koro Ni came out last night in Japan, so I assume that that will be up for download soon, and the last episode of Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Rei comes out tonight, and I think that it could possibly be the last Higurashi ever. I'm just going to feel extremely sad about it once it's finished. And the new Haruhi Episode.
In another news, I'm not watching Azumanga Daioh anymore, because I watched two episodes and thought it was the biggest pile of wank I've ever seen. Apart from Digimon ;D

I was the most unfortunate.
I knew that there was no exit out of this maze.
Then, he was the next unfortunate.
He did not know that there was no exit out of this maze.
But all the rest weren't so unfortunate.
They didn't know that they were in the maze in the first place.-Frederica Bernkastel
Pretty Boys.
Pretty boys are pretty.
Full Metal Alchemist.
I might actually be in love with Full Metal Alchemist. I've only watched one episode, but oh my god. I have so much anime to watch that it overwhelms me.
Oh, it's results day today, and I can't sleep. I tried for two hours. Nothing. I just lay there thinking that I need a new mattress because the springs in mine are starting to dig in my back. And they snap, all the time. Is this normal for a mattress? I don't know. My bed is like, the most uncomfortable thing in the world right now. And it's hot. I'm tired. I know I'm tired. But I really can't sleep.
My alarms set for half six. I think I might at least try and get some more sleep.
Can someone tell me a really cool female anime character who isn't anyone from either Lucky Star, or The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya? I swear most female anime characters are just there because of the whole 'moe' thing. Misa Misa, for example. Seriously?

And here's what Frederica Bernkastel looks like

It doesn't make sense anymore xD
Results.
Wednesday, 19 August 2009
I cannot believe that results day is tomorrow. I don't want it. At all. Boo. Boo to results.
I've decided that because I can, I'm gonna post what anime I'm watching at the bottom, and what episode I'm upto. :)
I gave in and decided to download Full Metal Alchemist. At 51 episodes, it's one of the longest anime's that I will have ever watched.

Anime Overload.
Tuesday, 18 August 2009
I think I might be overloading myself with anime to watch. I still haven't watched all of Samurai Deeper Kyo, purely because I know as soon as I double click on the file, I know there's going to be this horrible music. Kinda like the second half of Death Note where they had that unbarable screamo song which I loathed.
But I plan to watch the 7 episodes of Umineko No Naku Koro Ni, cause I really just didn't give it a chance last time. It will never beat Higurashi, but I always enjoy having something to watch. I don't get the guy at the start who was shouting "Beatrice!" for ages. He's more weird than I can handle.
And I'm also in the process of getting Azumanga Daioh, just because I've been told it's a slice of life anime. And it looks pretty cute too.
Other than that, I'm waiting for the next episode of Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Rei, which I actually found out is the last episode, unless they decide to make another season, which I'm hoping for, but at the same time, I'm doubting that they'll make it. It took them two years to make Rei, which is an OVA season. Two freakin' years for 5 episodes. I'm sad about this.
Beyond Birthday.
Sunday, 16 August 2009
I could kind of imagine what Beyond Birthday looked like when I read Death Note: Another Note.
But oh my god, I don't like it. I found the conceptual design of him, and here it is.

In other news, I'm upset. My L Change The WorLd DVD's broken. It really wouldn't be such a big deal if I'd bought it myself, but I didn't. It was a present for passing my theory test, and it's fucking broken already.
Kira
I would like to quickly point out what I thought about Kira.
He was kinda like the most hideous man you could think of, but at the same time, you kinda agreed with what he was doing. I never really knew whether to agree with him or not.
If I had a Death Note, I would probably do something similar. But I wouldn't kill them all with heart attacks because that would just look strange. I'd probably wipe them out with a disease or something. I haven't thought it through.
Actually, if I had a real Death Note, I would probably cry at the sight of the shinigami and write my own name in there.
L Change The WorLd.
I think this film, from the mixed reviews it's gotten, could well be compared to marmite. You know, you either love it or hate it.
I really wasn't expecting much from the film, but I thought it was brilliant. I don't think I'd call it a detective story as I expected, because L didn't actually do all that much in the way of deducing. I think that maybe L was more of a baby sitter, as opposed to a detective.
The thing that I've enjoyed about the Death Note films is that they've cast everyone
perfectly. The three that automatically jump into my mind would be Ken'ichi Matsuyama as L, Tatsuya Fujiwara as Light Yagami and Shunji Fujimura as Watari (the latter just didn't get the credit he deserved). When it comes to live action films, I do have my annoyances at hair colour, but that aside, I don't think that they made any particularly bad casting choices in L Change The WorLd.
Aside from the annoying little girl who managed to fuck everyone up in the last couple of scenes.
I think it's actually pretty difficult for me to say that L Change The WorLd is part of the Death Note series, for one reason, and one reason only. The bad guys in the film.
I wasn't a huge fan of Light Yagami in the anime (I thought he was pretty bad ass in the films), but hell, Kira was one of the most interesting villians in any anime or manga that I've come across. In this film, the bad guys didn't seem like bad guys. They were just psychos who couldn't really explain what they were doing (them saying "the worlds going to end soon anyway" is not an explaination as far as I'm concerned.) And they just seemed like mediocre villians in comparison to Kira.
All in all, I enjoyed it. Aside from the little girl who said she wanted to cut herself to unleash this virus on the world was irritating all the way through, and the bad guys in the story, who were just horrifically boring. I'd give it four and a half gold stars. (Y)
Nearly Dead.
Friday, 14 August 2009
This morning I received a book in the post, and the book is beautiful. Both me and my mum are book collectors. Downstairs, I have a collection of my own books that I don't have room for in my bedroom, and upstairs, I have all my manga, an extremely old copy of Seven Years In Tibet and a lot of teenage novels. Oh, and a signed Lenard Nimoy book.
But the book that was waiting for me when I woke up tops them all. A cloth binding, a lovely dust jacket (it's white, so it's not a great dust jacket to be honest) with silver writing embossed into both, the cloth binding and the dust jacket. Very high quality paper, one of the most unique title pages I've ever seen and beautiful artwork. If it was a first edition I would have actually thrown up with excitement.
Of course, the book is Death Note: Another Note. Los Angeles BB Murder Cases. I'm completely and utterly thrilled, and it's been a very long time since I've been this thrilled with a book. The last time I was this excited was when I got a signed copy of Teacher Man by Frank McCourt.
I am very aware that I sound like a total geek, and not even the good kind, but I don't care. I'm so excited about it.
So, something interesting happened today while me and Simon were in Sutton, waiting for his dad to come and pick us up. We were sat outside KFC as we usually are. Behind us, a car pulls off and we both hear someone accelerating, thinking nothing of it. And then there was a crashing sound. Someone had either a fit, or a heart attack or something, and had slammed on the acceleration and had driven straight into a gate, and had carried on accelerating into the gate after impact. This continued until someone jumped out of their car, opened the drivers door and turned the engine off for him. Then a crowd gathered and watched as people tended to him.
I can't help but think that if it had happened 10 seconds earlier or if the driver had hesitated for another ten seconds, me and Simon would either be pretty badly injured, or worse. It just makes me think about my life a lot.
Happy.

Nice to meet you!Ebbieさん!I am Eiji doing a band of F.size.free which is active in Japanese Tokyo.Thank you for becoming friend!
I am very glad!
Thank you from now on!

That just made me awh, no end. Does anyone read kanji pls? xD
Edit: I bought this book called Manga Moods in May, and I'm trying to translate that into latin characters, using the book so I can at least try and understand it.
So far, I've worked out that さん means san.
F.Size.Free
Tuesday, 11 August 2009
I'm very excited about JCC now. F.Size.Free, who are one of my favourite bands, are definately playing and they're excited about it, I'm excited about it, and a good day shall be had.

I seriously hope that Eiji is going to be wearing that Polka-Dot shirt ;D
Ashfield Show.
Sunday, 9 August 2009
Yesterday was fun! Super duper fun!
We saw Navi, the Michael Jackson impersonator, who I loved. He reminded me of my Michael Jackson in a very strange and wrong way. But whatever. Then me, Claky, Adam and Laura went and sat on the hill with Angj, Amy, Jade, Simon, and Ant, possibly Emma, but she could have been with James. There were a lot of us anyway.
Noasis came on, and after a bad Michael Jackson joke, me, Claky, James, Laura and Adam decided to go to ASDA for food. Which is where I spent the rest of my money on sweets, and bargain sushi. And crisps. ASDA Smart Price Crisps ;D
After that, we went and hung around while nothing was happening, and me and Claky ended up throwing cheese puffs at each other for a few minutes before he started building a weird twig thing, with cheese puffs on the end of all the twigs, and a strawberry lace being involved. Yeah, it really was quite strange.
It's strange really but when ZU2 were on, no one was interested, because I don't think in our group there was any U2 fans to begin with. I didn't stay put for the entire thing, but I did catch the story about how he lost his virginity in Sutton Lawn (where the Ashfield Show is actually held) and the end of the set. Oh, and also a belly dancer. Wtf?
Then was Ruth Lorenzo. She was my favourite of the day. She did an amazing cover of Highway To Hell by AC/DC. That was truly amazing.
Then were the headlining band. Sugababes, who I've never been a fan of. I went for the lulz. And because it was free. It sucked that I knew a lot of the words to the songs though. And the little kids in front of me needed kicking in the face. They kept mounting each other, so we laughed, and then Laura said she felt like a paedophile, and we just tried to watch the band, but they were just there, being really obnoxious.
And then there was a lovely fireworks display, which might have been the highlight of my summer so far. Well, apart from seeing Twiggy and Emma, the bitches who wake me up every morning. Radio bitchez.

Coach Trip.
Saturday, 8 August 2009
I forgot to mention how much I loved two of the couples who were at the audition. Rita and Susan and Vance and Jason. They were lovely. I think Jason might have been the youngest other than me and Simon at 41. I shouldn't admit to liking coach trip. I also liked Raymond and cannot remember her name D:
They were all just so smiley. I really hope that either one of those couples get on Coach Trip because they just so deserve it, and I'd enjoy watching it. :D
Samurai Deeper Kyo.
Friday, 7 August 2009
I really, really like Samurai Deeper Kyo. It's a good story, and got some awesome voice actors. The problem is, I really cannot stand the music. The opening theme is horrible, the ending theme is awful, and the background music is enought to make me want to never listen to any anime music ever again.
It's a shame, because it brings it's 4 star rating down to like a 2 and a half.
Rest.
I just needed this morning off to rest my tired self, but now I'm well rested, bored and I want to go out. I'm finding this whole lying in bed not doing anything in particular freakin' annoying.
Yesterday was mine and Simon's audition for Coach Trip. I'm not sure if I'm actually supposed to say anything about it, so I'll wait until September starts before I try embarrasing myself on my blog.
I got to see Adam yesterday too, who I nicknamed Light, because I said he emits coolness like a lightbulb emits Light, and it just stuck. We hung around Birmingham, and he took me around all of the nerdy comic book shops around there. I was amazed. They were just so brilliant. They had a huge selection and it just hurt that I didn't live there. I also got 3 mangas which came in at £1.25, so I was happy. I got two Oh My Goddess manga's for 50p each, and Blazin' Barrels for 25p. I nearly bought it the other day for like, £1.50, and Adam bullied me a little bit into getting it because it was "only 25p." So I got it.
Then we just hung out for a few hours near this huge cheap but scary looking sphinx thing and messed about a little bit. We took photos, we had a laugh, but then we decided to start heading back to the train station so we didn't miss our train. Adam bought me a bottle of coke, which was uber sweet of him, and then we said our goodbyes. I honestly thought I might cry.
And his goodbye line was "Light travels faster than Ebbie" or something along those lines, and then he left. Then me and Simon were left to find the platform, find the train, find some seats on said train, and go back to Nottingham. We read Twilight, talked about the audition, I flicked through my magazine, and before long, we were back in Nottingham.
After a bus ride where I got into the habit of echoing everything I said, it was all over, and we were back at home, in Kirkby. I don't think I ever missed my bed that much.
L.
Tuesday, 4 August 2009

L is the best detective ever. I love him.
That's all.
Theory and Coach Trip.
I passed my theory test! Yay! I got 47 out of 50 for the multiple choice questions, and 62 out of 75 for Hazard Perception. Which reminds me, I need to text my driving instructor.
So yesterday, I got a phone call from Johnny at Channel 4. He works in the Coach Trip Department. I'm not sure it's really a department, or a guy in a cubicle with a paper sign saying "Coach Trip."
Anyway, me and Simon have an audition for Coach Trip, in Birmingham on Thursday! I'm so excited, but they really haven't emailed me all the details and I'm really not sure what I should do about that. I love Coach Trip. For life. Seriously.
Besides, it's really weird that the day after we met Luke who was on Coach Trip last year, we get a phone call from Coach Trip who gave us a freakin' audition! :D
Pokemon Village Fete.
Sunday, 2 August 2009

Today was lovely! Me, Simon and Claky went to the Pokemon Village Fete in Nottingham, and it was just generally amazing. There was a guy dressed as Ash, loads of different things going off, and a couple of freebies. The freebies being promo cards and booklets so we knew what was happening. But still, they were showing old and new episodes of Pokemon and showed the 11th movie (which I've seen before, and I thought it was terrible).
I didn't enjoy it as much as I have other Pokemon events that I've been to (and I've been to a lot from The Pokemon Adventure at the Dome, to swap-shops and Eon Ticket giveaways), but all-in-all, it was pretty good and I enjoyed myself. It was nice being with my friends rather than with my dad or Derek and Badge for once.
Plus, I have to say this. The guy doing the Pokemon Academy thing was totally Luke from Coach Trip! I spotted someone from freakin' Coach Trip! Anyone who knows me, should know that I LOVE Coach Trip.
I also saw a wild Snorlax.
Mark Read.
Saturday, 1 August 2009

So today was Party In The Park in Mansfield, and it was fabulous.
We (being me, Laura, Claky, Simon and Orby) met up in Mansfield at about 1, and then we went to home bargains, got food, walked around for a bit and then went to Tichfield Park. There was a lot of stuff on, so we wondered around and looked at the stuff that was going off, like darleks and donkey rides, but didn't really do anything. Well, until me and Simon got these bags, and I decided to get a frisbee so we played with that for a bit. It got ran over though, and me and Laura were watching in horror as the car slowly pulled off and managed to get it full on.
So after Simon slipped over and I keeled over from laughing (I'm giggling at the image of it now) we gave up and decided to go and see some bands. So we saw this amazing guitar guy called Matt Marriott who could have rivaled Newton Faulkner, some pop-punk bands and this band full of elderly rockers with terrible fashion sense before Mark Read came on stage.
When I was a little girl, I actually loved Mark Read because he was in my favourite band at the time, A1, and it was always my dream to see them live. I still haven't, but I have seen one of the ex-members, and he played two A1 songs. I'm just in awe. He was awesome, and his singing must have been about 20 times better than it was six years ago.
Plus he's really, really good looking.
I'm really happy. I love Mark Read completely.
